This is a drawing of my Vacuum Casting Box (VCB) without the front and back sides. The VCB does an excellent job of packing the sand rock hard around the foam part without any effort or distortion. A vacuum bag is wrapped around the top of the vacuum chamber. Pour in some sand and slightly bury the foam, turn on the shop vac and slowly add the remaining sand. The VCB is definatly worth the 1 hour build. There's a picture and video on the bearings page.
