finished bearing

Bob's Metelcasting needs a new CNC router and I decided that this one would be built from new material. Then I saw the price of the linear bearings at $125 and decided to build them myself. The dimensions are exactly the same as the manufactured bearings so that they can be swapped out at a later date.

Sprue, runner and wire support with 2 thin coats of joint compound. The hardware grade rod is left in place so that the bushings don't move.

clean up time

The crud on this casting is the result of running my Vacuum Casting Box while pouring. It looks like a ruined casting but it easily chips off.
